Blog seriously?

After my PMR, which ends October 17th, I’ll be starting a self-hosted blog. Of course, powered by the WordPress platform, because I’m familiar with it and just prefer it over Blogger. Dad kindly agreed to pay for the hosting and domain. The best I’ve found is $6.95 a month, but that only applies if I take it for 24 months. There’s a $10.95 a month option with more features, which I’ll have to see if I need.

I’m doing this mainly for custom XHTML, style sheets and themes. Which means Google Adsense and Nuffnang on the blog like my previous one with Blogger.

I’ve seen really good themes online, but I’ll definitely go for Julien De Luca’s Freshy 2 for WordPress, which is the succesor to my current theme here first, once I get things running.

With www.wordpress.com now, I can export my posts and comments into that to-be blog.

Getting it started will definitely take some time but well, I’ll have plenty by then and after everything’s done, I’m sure I’ll enjoy the benefits.

Looking forward to the flexibility of the blog. Heck, looking forward to everything after PMR

A Year Ago

Exactly a year ago, I created this blog. My posts were stupid and I blogged about dumb random stuff like a whore. I knew nothing about writing interesting stuff.

Now, I mainly blog about photography. Since a year ago, I got about 9K hits. Thank you, people. It might seem modest to blogging giants but I don’t even do this as a hobby.

I went into my blog stats recently and I was pretty surprised on the clicks I get. Last month, I got 1124 views. Thanks for the support, whoever reads my blog

I’ve grown fond of the WordPress interface. It’s very user friendly and the themes are to my liking. Of course, you can’t put Google AdSense bars up but I don’t do this for that.

How’s my Banner?

I’m wondering how my banner/header appeals to public. It’s pretty simple and plain actually, as I didn’t use a Photoshop equipped computer that time. Do comment on the current banner.

Taken from onboard SuperStar Virgo in the South China Sea going to Vietnam (departing from Singapore) on the 6th June 2007, it shows nothing except for the ocean, the difference between the untouched waters and that after the 76800 gross tonne ship sailed over.

The horizon between the ocean and the sky isn’t parallel to the banner too. I need a new one. I’ll come up with one as soon as possible.

Posting this makes me want to go back on a cruise onboard the same ship.
