About
Hi, I’m Nicholas from Selangor, Malaysia. A Form 3 student, my major exam year. I see you dropped by my blog. Here’s a rather simple about-me. I’m into photography (though not professionally, yet.), but collecting scale models of cars was the one that pulled me into the vivid world of photography. I started off taking photos with just my mobile phone in early 2006 and later in mid-2007 got a Panasonic Lumix compact camera. I got more and more serious about it and moved over to Canon’s EOS dSLR system with the 400D in October 2007.

My main subjects of interest in photography include architecture, landscapes and automotive, although I’d one day like to explore portraiture. With a Speedlite 580 EX II and a Stofen Omni-Bounce, which i have yet to get. Got them, but haven’t got the time and subjects for portraiture and strobing, yet (: I also kinda enjoy aircraft spotting at KLIA, but I only get to do that once in a while. Just sitting down there under the blazing sun with a cap and camera with telephoto in hand.

Sometimes I snap silly subjects, out of fun but they turn out to be not bad. Which is why I’m somewhat an experimental photographer. Unfortunately, not all experiments work. But that’s the fun of it. If you’re that curious and still want to find out more, here are some facts:
My birthday falls on 16 July every year, the day I never fail to get bashed up by friends for that reason
I tend to carry my dSLR almost anywhere as I fear I’d miss it should a photographic opportunity arise
I’m technically inclined so I find out everything about numbers and specifications in my interests
I love architecture, not only from the photography point of view
I’d like to learn more about strobing, after I get my external flash
I want to go on a road trip across Europe, alone. With my camera equipment
I think I’ve got a wishlist but really, you don’t want to know what’s in there
I know how to operate Photoshop CS, CS2 and CS3 quite extensively and not just about photo retouching but also digital graphics, media and vectorization. Although I know how to use it, I don’t over-manipulate Photoshop. I believe in taking a good photo and improving in in Photoshop. Not the “Oh, it’ll be fixed in Photoshop” attitude.

hai..i like those pic that you took..i love photography, but i don’t know where to learn about it?i hope you can share some technique while taking a good pic
Hi, there are many, many techniques to take good photos. The basic ones is aperture, shutter speed and ISO. play with them and you’ll learn what it’s all about in no time. Of course, your camera must have manual functions to do what you want it to do, not let it do what you don’t want it to do.
To learn more, I suggest you register at http://www.shutterasia.com/forum and http://www.photomalaysia.com/forums
Introduce yourself there once you’ve registered and say you’re new and like to learn, they’ll be there to help you out. See you there!
